Friends Theological College is operated by Friends United Meeting (FUM), a global body of the Friends Church (Quakers), with many groupings of churches (yearly meetings) in ten countries on four continents. Friends United Meeting’s global headquarters is located in Indiana USA, and its African headquarters is found in Kisumu Kenya. Through FUM, the college is affiliated with the World Council of Churches.
Because FTC’s main campus is located in the historic mission complex in Kaimosi, it operates in close cooperation with East Africa Yearly Meeting, which owns all land, and with the other Friends institutions in the complex.
For many years, the residential diploma programme at FTC has been offered in collaboration with St. Paul’s University in Limuru Kenya. The core curriculum represents a broad-based ecumenical foundation for pastoral ministry. In addition, FTC students study the distinctive faith and practice of the Friends Church. For more information on this program, see [insert link to diploma page].
The college is affiliated with the Association of Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA), an accreditation body that is in turn a part of the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education and its parent group, the World Evangelical Alliance.
